BIOGRAPHY

Daniel discovered his passion for filmmaking at a young age when he started making shorts. He later decided to focus on his favourite role - editing - and gained important cutting room and features experience working on Batman Begins, The Da Vinci Code and Bourne Ultimatum.

Daniel graduated with a Distinction in 2007 from the National Film and Television School's two year MA programme, specialising in editing, where he gained invaluable experience working with a wide range of directors on a variety of films.

As a freelancer, he has endeavoured to build upon his experience and abilities as an editor by choosing to work on projects as diverse as possible - including comedy, animation, documentary, contemporary and period drama - and has worked with directors including Jordan Scott, Sean Durkin, Vincent Moon, Olly Blackburn, China Moo-Young and Amanda Boyle. In 2016 Daniel was nominated for a BAFTA Award for editing sci-fi drama series Humans.

Daniel owns his own Avid Media Composer and Final Cut Pro edit systems and has worked with super16 / 35mm film. He is a proficient French speaker.

Press AND Awards

THE LIVING AND THE DEAD
"The perfect ghost story with a nice line in atmospheric dread", The Radio Times
"Fantastically stressful viewing - word to the wise, just don't hold any hot drinks", The Mirror

ENDEAVOUR
"Endeavour appeared to borrow much from Reservoir Dogs. This is of course welcome. A bank heist followed by a shoot-out put Morse into Tarantino territory", The Express
"The final heist episode packed an emotional punch and left fans baying for more", The Guardian

HUMANS
Nominee, BAFTA - Television Craft: Editing - Fiction
Nominee, BAFTA - Best Drama Series
Nominee, RTS Programme Awards - Best Drama Series
"A clever, high-energy thriller... There’s a complicated, realistic, interesting morality to Humans", The Guardian
"Humans does a particularly good job of creating an uncomfortably plausible setting in a parallel-present London. It allows the show not only to play on our age-old fears about out-of-control technological advancement, but also on a more mundane middle-class unease", The Independent

GLUE
Nominee, Broadcast Awards - Best Multichannel Programme
"A multi-layered thriller with heart, range and moments of real lyricism... a series which was a triumph of style and content", The Telegraph
"A show that proves that not all E4 yoof dramas need to be tiringly arch or repellently hip to anyone guilty of being north of 25", The Guardian

REFLECTIONS
Official Selection at London Short Film Festival
Vimeo Staff Pick with 104K views and counting

CALL THE MIDWIFE
"The BBC period drama delivered it’s most poignant episode yet. It was a difficult storyline, superbly written and acted ★★★★", The Telegraph
"A phenomenal cultural moment that demonstrates that Britain has matured in its understanding of disability", The Independent

TALKING TO THE DEAD
"Rundle is excellent and carries the piece with sturdy support from Russell Tovey and the reliably devilish Michael Smiley", Time Out
"A refreshing, original and interesting addition to the ranks of television’s eccentric detectives", The Stage

SOUTHCLIFFE
Nominee, BAFTA - Best Miniseries
"A class apart, genuinely monumental TV that already sits comfortably within the British canon", The Huffington Post
"Drama that gripped you by the heart and refused to let go... its ugliness has a savage brilliance and a visceral power ★★★★★". The Telegraph

SWITCH
"Sentimental rather than sassy, it is charmingly acted by the four leads", The Telegraph
"It’s not at all sophisticated or layered in a Buffy way but decent fluff nevertheless", The Guardian

ONE WRONG WORD
Official Selection at Portland and Clermont-Ferrand Film Festivals

CARE
Official Selection at Encounters Film Festival
"A discordant, suspense-filled mood piece", The Times
"A strong, minimal and cleverly filmed piece that recalls Andrea Arnold’s Bafta-winning Fish Tank ★★★★", Daily Mail

SKIRT
WINNER, Vimeo Awards - Best Fashion Film
Official Selection at Rushes Soho Shorts Festival

THE FLYING MACHINE
WINNER, Best Film at Liege 3D Film Festival, Audience Award at LA 3D Film Festival
Official Selection at Toronto, Cork, Montreal and India International Film Festivals

CAST OFFS
WINNER, Radar’s ‘People of the Year Human Rights Award 2010 for Fictional Media’
Nominee, RTS Programme Awards - Best Drama Series, Cultural Diversity Awards and a Rose D'Or

"A brilliantly observed comedy drama", The Times
